Do I need something to Heat Hotbox?
 No, you need no external source of heat as the pack has its own built-in heating system.

Where do I store the Hotbox?
It should be kept in dry areas and at room temperature. Storing it in the refrigerator is not recommended and may interfere with or prolong the heating process.

Do I need my own cutlery?
No. Inside the package you will find a spork (our first shipments have forks but the new shipments will have sporks) which acts as both a fork and a spoon, as well as a paper napkin. 

Are the Hotbox meal boxes harmful to the environment?
No, the entire package is made of materials which are suitable for recycling.

Why before you start eating Hotbox food, should it be well stirred?
 Since the dish is heated from below, the food at the bottom of the dish is warmer than than that on top. Mixing will help circulate the heat within the Hotbox, and the meal will continue to heat for approximately 15-20 minutes.

Is the heating system unsafe?
No. The heating system is not dangerous. Once the water bag is pierced and the water makes contact with the lime based heating elements, there is a chemical reaction which produces sufficient heat to heat the Hotbox meal. Moreover the heating system is tightly sealed. The food will heat to 70 degrees, which makes it a very acceptable eating temperature but it DOES NOT GET PIPING HOT. This is important to know as some customers expect it to be "piping hot", if we were to make the food "piping hot" then it would negate the benefits of it being a convenience food as you would have to wait until it cooled down.

How long can you store a Hotbox Meal for?
The life span of the Hotbox meal is 18 months from date of manufacture, as long as it is stored in a dry environment at room temperature. Not allowing water to make contact with the product is important as it could activate the heating process if it leaks into the heating system.
